Hatch Makerspace is free to use and open to everyone. Hatch Makerspace, affectionately called Hatch, is a workshop space stocked with tools, materials, and expertise so that community members can learn and create their own do-it-yourself projects. First opened at the Arsenal Mall in 2014, Hatch now resides at 20 Summer St, a five-minute walk from the Watertown Library.

Hatch is staffed by the Hatch Coordinator, the Hatch Assistant, and talented local volunteers. Staff and volunteers are available to assist with projects, orient new patrons to the makerspace, and also offer hands-on demonstrations to inspire new projects.

Hatch welcomes anyone with a desire to create; artists, crafters, engineers, families, hobbyists, and you! You can bring your own materials (ask us about paint, we have some limitations) and use our space to get a little messy. You can bring your ideas and brainstorm the next great gadget. Or come for the community atmosphere, most of our 40+ volunteers started their journey with one project and one visit. We are here to help you achieve your creative goals.

Hatch is an initiative of the Watertown Free Public Library (WFPL) with support from the Watertown Community Foundation and the Watertown Free Public Library Building Committee. WFPL thanks the Residence at Watertown Square for generously hosting Hatch, free of charge, at their facility on 20 Summer Street.
