Copy, Scan, Print
The Watertown Free Public Library has a flatbed public photocopier available for use in the Adult Department. It costs $0.15 per page and accepts coins and dollar bills. It prints black and white documents on letter and legal sized paper and has the capability to print on both sides.
The Adult Department is home to a touchscreen ScanCenter station equipped with a flatbed scanner as well as a document feeder. The ScanCenter allows books and documents to be scanned to a flash drive, email, Google Drive, smartphone (via QR code), or printer.
Documents can be saved as PDF, JPG, or TIFF files. The ScanCenter offers both black and white and color scanning, and features an image editing interface for adjusting scans, and can scan items up to 11 inches by 17 inches.
Each library department has its own color printer available. Patrons may print up to two black and white pages for free per day. Each page after that is $0.10 for black and white or $0.40 for color.
How to Print From Our Desktops
Use the print button to print the document or webpage like you normally would. The first two black and white pages will automatically be sent to the printer, and a dialog box will remind you to pick them up. If you are printing more than two pages, a dialog box will appear. The dialog box will indicate how much the charge will be. (If the existing balance on your print account is not sufficient to cover the cost of the print job, the dialog box will prompt you to add money to your account.) Press “yes” to print or press “no” to cancel your job. If the balance on your print account is not sufficient to cover the cost of the print job, click "no" to cancel the job. You may submit the job again after you have added money to your print account
How to Add Money to Your Print Account
For printing in the Adult Department, simply go over to the Payment Station computer near the printer that has the coin box attached to it. Choose the “Add Money to My Account” button and follow the instructions on the screen. Teens may add money to their accounts by going to the Circulation Desk and children may add money to their accounts by going to the Children’s Circulation Desk.
