Evening ESOL Teachers for Project Literacy

Duties/Description: Project Literacy, a program of the Watertown Free Public Library that serves adult English language learners, seeks energetic, creative teachers for our beginner and advanced beginner classes. These classes meet at the Watertown High School on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6:30 to 9, from September through the end of May. Responsibilities include the preparation and teaching of engaging lessons that address the needs of learners; attendance at staff meetings and in-service workshops; and completion of required recordkeeping.

Qualifications: B.S./B.A., MA in ESOL or related field preferred. Experience using a learner-centered approach, preferably with adult immigrants in a community-based setting.

Hourly Rate: $23/hr  for 5 hours teaching and 2 hours preparation per week, plus once-a-month meetings.
