I admit to being a bit of a Star Wars geek. But I wasn’t prepared for how keenly I felt the loss of Carrie Fisher at the news of her passing yesterday. Luckily for us, she left behind a body of books and movies to remind us of her voice.
"When you study history, you must ask yourself, whose story am I missing? Whose voice was suppressed so that this voice could come forth? Once you have figured that out, you must find that story, too.”
Picture books are often thought of as something meant only for young children, and it’s assumed that adults should only read picture books when accompanied by a child. But there’s no reason why us grown-ups can’t enjoy them even without kiddos!
