“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” ― Winston Churchill
A couple of patrons’ inquiries about books relating to Winston Churchill indicated to me that he is a subject of interest in the present day. Mr. Churchill was respected greatly for his vigor in standing up for the British nation during World War II. He served as prime minister (1940–45, 1951–55).
- Churchill : the power of words : his remarkable life recounted through his writings and speeches : 200 readings / selected, edited and introduced by Martin Gilbert.
- Dinner with Churchill : policy-making at the dinner table/Cita Stelzer.
- Six months in 1945 : FDR, Stalin, Churchill, Truman : from World War to Cold War / by Michael Dobbs.
On Veterans Day we are reminded of the contributions of the U.S. service men and women throughout the years.
