At the Reference Desk, we are often asked for exam preparation books. GED, ASVAB, MTEL, CMA, TOEFL—we hear it all! The library does own many of these types of books, but the newest editions are often checked out, or the test type is so specific that we do not own it. This is where our Learning Express database comes to the rescue. Learning Express is a test-prep database that includes the vast majority of the tests patrons ask for—from elementary school through job preparation, learning English through becoming a citizen. Best of all, like all of the databases provided by the library, it’s completely FREE. You just need to set up an account and the test-taking world is yours to discover.
To find Learning Express, go to the library’s home page. Choose the Research tab, then Databases and Online Resources, as shown below. Scroll down the alphabetical list to Learning Express, and you’re ready to go.
For more information about this or any other database on the list, please ask at the Reference Desk, or call 617-972-6436. Many of the databases, including Learning Express, are available for home use.
